With wings wrapped around your finger and the intrigue blues of a Swiss Blue Topaz, this handmade bird ring takes flight with a design that was cut free hand from a flat band of 18 gauge sterling silver using a fine jewelry saw. The flat bird band was then hammered into a ring shape over a steel mandrel, the ends joined at the seams using silver solder and an acetylene torch, and fine details such as feathers chased deep into the metal with engraving tools. Measuring about ½ inch from head to tail, the bird can be adapted to fit any ring size and remain in perfect proportion to the wing span.
