Sterling silver anniversary or friendship rings with to the moon and back

Using hammered borders for asymmetrical sparkle, this I love you to the moon and back sterling silver ring set combines ideograms representing the moon and love for uncluttered elegance to visually emphasize that special love on a celestial path while the handmade artistanship departs from banality and cliché with an edgy rustic flair.

The bands were sheared by hand as flat metal strips from 18 gauge sterling silver, stamped one letter and symbol at a time, and worked into rings with a pliers and nylon mallet to precisely align the ends. Using silver solder and an acetylene torch, the seams were soldered together and the rings were perfectly shaped to perfection on a steel mandrel. The hammered edges are added last, since hammering the sterling silver will expand the metal and must be completed with the ring in place on a sizing mandrel.

As shown, these rings are shown in size 5 and 7 with a 6mm width, but can be ordered in any custom size, by simply entering your requests in the notes to seller section during check out. The inside can also be stamped or engraved with a date or short words like love, forever, or any custom text. The stamping and engraving are always darkened with a black earth metal patina to maximize contrast against the bright glow of the sterling silver. Generally the rings are hand polish, however mirror polishes and rustic brushed finishes are available upon request. In our experiences, super ultra mirror finishes are a poor choice for rings and will quickly become scratched, tarnished from hand-soaps, and just are not the best option for everyday wear.
