Inspired by a passion for cycling and my bicycle chain cuff links, this sterling silver bicycle sprocket was sawed entirely by hand from 18 gauge sterling silver using nothing more than a very fine jewelry saw. The sprocket measures about 1.25 inches in diameter and hangs from an extra sturdy stainless steel ball chain. Upon request, it is also possible to stamp or engrave personalized text and messages in a circular pattern along the circumference of the gear.
As shown, the sterling silver was polished to a near mirror finish with walnut shell, however it is also possible to apply an antique patina for an aged appearance, use steel wool for a rustic feel, or go all out with a brushed satin finish for an industrial flair.
