Daintily perched on an adjustable sterling silver ring shank, this handmade butterfly was sawed by hand from 18 gauge sterling silver using a fine jewelry saw, brushed to a radiant silver glow, and to give the appearance of a gentle flutter caught mid wing beat as the wings unfold, the butterfly was domed on a dapping block. The ring shank was also cut by hand from 18 gauge sterling silver, shaped on a steel ring mandrel by hammering, fused to the butterfly with sterling silver solder and an acetylene torch, and the ends tabs were rounded, filed, and left open for easy adjustment for any knuckle or finger size.
The butterfly measures about .5 inch and can be personalized to suit any taste, style, or sizing requests along with modifying the ring shank for placement on a knuckle or finger.
