Personalized latitude longitude coordinates ring in sterling silver

This sterling silver latitude longitude ring can be personalized with your own coordinates to remind you of the famous quote, you can't know where you're going until you know where you've been.

The ring is shown in a size 7, but can be ordered in any size by entering your ring size or finger circumference in the notes to seller during check out. If you are unsure of your ring size, just contact me at any time. In the check out notes, please enter your coordinates and any other stamping you wish to have on the ring. Since the ring was formed from thick 18 gauge sterling silver, it is possible to stamp both the front and back without having punch through. The ring measures .25 inch wide by 1 mm thick.

The flat sterling silver ring form was sawed by hand from 18 gauge sterling silver with a jewelry saw, stamped one digit at a time with latitude and longitude coordinates, and hammered over a steel ring mandrel to form the ring using a nylon mallet. The ends were perfectly aligned and joined with at the seam with sterling silver solder and an acetylene torch. By making absolutely sure that ends are in perfect alignment, while following the soldering process with a meticulous filing and polishing, the seam becomes almost invisible. The edges were filed smooth, a patina brushed into the coordinates, and the ring was polished to a mirror finish with a series of fine polishing cloths ending in an ultra fine 12,000 grit.
